Ramenskoye Design Company
OKB - 149, now "Ramenskoye Design Company" ("RDC") was founded on the 24th of Febraury 1947 by order of the Aviation Industry Ministry.
Zelenkov S.V., Doctror of Technic, Hero of Socialist Labour was the founder and the first Director General as well as Chief designer of the company.
Magnusov V.S, laureate of Lenin's and State award of USSR, Chief designer was the head of "RDC" in 1980-1991.
Givi Ivlianovich Dzhandzhgava, Doctor of Technic, laureate of State awards of the USSR and RF has been Director General and Chief Designer of JSC "RDC since 1991.
1950s – forming of principal directions, development of avionics suites, attitude and heading reference systems, various types of electromechanical indicators.
1960s - the first USSR airborne inertial navigation systems, airborne digital computing systems and product family of attitude and heading reference systems for supersonic aircraft were developed.
1970s – new generation inertial and navigation systems which provide performance of principal functions of avionics are developed, the first in the Union navigation system on the basis of Earth's physical fields.
1980s – several generations of various devices, avionics for aircraft and helicopters were developed. A unique operating system for airborne computers is developed for each generation of aircraft.
1990s – creation of complex multilevel integrated avionics suites on the basis of the main-modular principal, open architecture and math software for new and upgraded military aircraft and helicopters.
Since 1992 - open joint stock company "Ramenskoye Design Company".
2000-2010 - competitive on the world market highly intellectual avionics for advanced and upgraded military aircraft and helicopter is created on the basis of the most up-to-date constructive decisions and advance technologies; the concept of "glass cockpit" is implemented, "smart" colour multifunction displays and control panels are developed on the basis of the concept; they form an integrated information-control field of aircraft.
Zelenkov Serpion Veniaminovich (1911-1994) is the founder, the first Directot and Chief Designer of "RDC" in 1947-1980. Doctor of technic, Hero of Socialist Labour, holder of two Lenin's orders, two orders of Labour Red Banner, Red Star orders, "Respect" order and 9 medals. He was the head of the company for more than 30 years. He managed to gather this creative team of like-minded persons, explorers-pioneers which were the first ones who propagated domestic aircraft instruments industry. "Ramenskoye Design Company" moved through establishment and development and became a leader of domestic avionics. There is a monument in the centre of the town monument
Magnusov Valeriy Sergeevich was born on the 25th of December 1924. He gratuated Moscow Technical University of Bauman. Works at "RDC" since 1949. Director and Chief Designer of "RDC" in 1980 - 1991. Laureate of Lenin's and State award of the USSR. Honory aircraft builder, honary citizen of Ramenskoye district, Moscow Region. Awarded with orders of Labour Red Banner, the October Revolution, "Respect" order and 7 medals. Three generations of aircraft instruments, system and avionics suites are developed and used under his management and direct participation. Valeriy Sergeevich still works as Principal Adviser and Academic Secretary of Scientific-technical Council of "RDC".
Dzhandzhgava Givi Ivlianovich was born in Tbilisi, the Georgian SSR on the 10th of August 1940. He graduated Moscow Power Engineering University on speciality Automatics and Telemechanics. Works at "RDC" since 1964. Director of "RDC" in 1991 - 2010. Chief Designer of "RDC" since 1991. Doctor of Technic, professor, Honoured Science Worker of RF, Honorary aircraft building company, laureate of State awards of the USSR, Russia, the Russian Government, laureate of Russian Academy of Science awards of Petrov B.N. and Tupolev A.N., laureate of National Peter the Greate award, laureate of International Sokrat award. Vice president of Ligue of assistance to defence industry of Russian, Chairman of Board of Directors of industrial and scientific companies of Ramenskoye district of Moscow Region, Chairman of Trustees' Council on development of higher education and Honorary citizen of Ramenskoye district, Moscow Region.
